Plucking |
|
Plucking is a process where fresh tea leaves are
plucked from the garden by the labours. It is a very
skilled process and the the labours know which leaves
to pluck and which to not.
We strictly maintain 6 day round for plucking in order
to get the best quality from the tea bushes.
Our Cultivated area is around 750 acers and we pluck
around 2.5 million Kg's of leaf every year. With 2.5
million bushes. |
 |
|
Quality Check |
|
The leaves are checked for consistency and quality in
terms of size and health of the leaf in order to
process only good leaves.
It also serves as a benchmark for workers to progress. |
 |
|
Withering |
|
The leaves are finely withered on the well designed
turfs which are LPG fired. They are constantly checked
for weight loss and only technically qualified staff
are appointed in this important process.
The Withering layers are kept thin for fine withering

C.T.C |
|
Cutting Turning and Curling. In this stage the leaves
which are well withered are cut in this machine called
C.T.C. and that is how we get those grains of tea. The
various sizes of grains are dependent on this machine
only.
The leaves are filtered before this process to remove
out twigs and foreign materials. |
 |
|
Fermenting |
|
This is the most interesting process of tea making
where the cut tea leaves are fermented in a fermenting
room. It is laid in beds of 1" thick and are fermented
in a special room for aroma and colour. It is a very
skilled job. It is dependent on humidity and
temperature.
For the best quality we strictly maintain Floor
Fermenting only which takes place in an isolated well
designed room supervised by a qualified staff. |
 |
|
Drying |
|
In order to maintain quality the product is dried on
Quality Made Dryers only and our dryers are LPG fired
which again leads to consistent quality. |
 |
|
Sorting |
|
This process the dried leaves are actually tea and is
ready to consume but it is sorted to various grades
and fiber is removed from the tea. Grades like "Dust"
are derived after sorting only. In all there are 18
grades of different sizes
To maintain quality the tea is packed immediately to
retain it's aroma and freshness. |
